Pacific Diving Academy (PDA) adheres to strict instructional standards as established by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI). Each individual candidate prior to enrolling in any PDA course must meet all prerequisites. Prerequisites can be found in the class description as published by PADI. In conjunction with successful completion of all required exams and instructional courses, certain Professional Levels have additional requirements for certifications. Please see Note, as it applies, for each Professional Level.
The PADI Divemaster course is your first level of professional training. As a divemaster, you can demonstrate exemplary diving skills, rescue skills, dive management and supervision abilities. For many, divemaster is just the beginning of their professional journey.
The PADI Assistant Instructor course provides training as assistants and dive educators. An Assistant Instructor will be able to gain employment by teaching basic recreational scuba diving under the indirect supervision of an instructor.
This class builds upon the student’s abilities to organize and supervise dive activities while continuing to develop teaching ability, dive knowledge, skill level, and understanding of entire system of education, attitude and professionalism in preparation for the Instructor Examination and be trained as Emergency First Response Instructor.
By the end of this course the student will be able to train divers to Professional Level 2 (Assistant Instructor Course) and co-teach Professional Level 3 (Open Water Scuba Instructor Course) students.
